Amyris is a synthetic biotechnology and renewable chemical company headquartered in Emeryville, California. Leaders in synthetic biology, Amyris started back in 2003 with a grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to create a molecule to treat malaria. By engineering the genetics of yeast strains and fermenting them in sugarcane syrup, Amyris scientists pioneered the ability to convert basic plant sugars to hydrocarbon molecules. To date, the company has successfully created and commercialized 13 sustainable ingredients that are used by hundreds of millions of people, in products made by more than 3,000 top global brands. Amyris serves the specialty and performance chemicals, flavors and fragrances, cosmetics ingredients, pharmaceuticals, and nutraceuticals markets.
The Grady Campbell design team worked closely with the Amyris founding partners to develop the Amyris brand identity, design standards, website, building signage, collateral, advertising promotions, and presentations.
