Kerry Grady is an American entrepreneur, designer, educator, author, and humanitarian. He is best known as the founding principal of Grady Campbell, a leading strategic brand agency established in 1989 that plans, designs and produces customized, multi-dimensional solutions for a wide range of clientele. As the firm’s brand strategist and design director, Kerry sets the tone for the creative and strategic work that Grady Campbell produces for its clients, always emphasizing the firm’s commitment to helping them build their culture, their business, and their brand value. Kerry’s talent and acumen is a unique blend of a strong design aesthetic and a deep understanding of business strategy.

For more than 35 years, Kerry has collaborated with business leaders, investors, fund managers, bankers, high net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs, start-ups, law firms, technology companies, educators, non-profits, celebrities, government officials and media, to deliver high quality solutions to a broad range of challenges. While Kerry’s clients are primarily based in the United States, he has worked with businesses in Germany, Portugal, The United Arab Emirates, India, South Korea, and the United Kingdom.

Kerry is a trusted advisor to business leaders and entrepreneurs. His experience spans all aspects of design, branding and marketing. Kerry has created, refreshed and implemented successful brand programs for hundreds of clients including IBM, Motorola, General Electric, Sara Lee, William Blair, Crescent Capital Group, Morningstar, The Art Institute of Chicago, The University of Chicago, and Oprah Winfrey. Kerry was instrumental in growing Chicago’s MB Financial Bank from $340M in assets to more than $24B in assets over a twelve-year period. Similarly, Kerry created and developed the brand for Guaranteed Rate, the 6th largest mortgage company in the United States.

Well-known in the design profession, Kerry’s work is recognized by some of the world’s most prestigious design journals and organizations including The American Institute of Graphics Arts, The American Center for Design, and The United Kingdom Design Council. Kerry has served as Associate Professor of Design to The University of Illinois, The Art Institute of Chicago, and Northern Illinois University. He is a member of the Chicago Economics Club and has served as a board member to a number of professional and philanthropic organizations.

With over 20 years of experience in delivering successful brand concepts with purpose and imagination, Zainab plays a pivotal role in creating award-winning campaigns, earning Gold at Dubai Lynx for Best Digital Creativity in the MENA region. She is a global creative ally to many discerning clients- shuttling between Grady Campbell’s Dubai and Chicago offices.

Zainab ensures that all products and services are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standards of quality. Michael Chapin is Senior Marketing Strategist for Grady Campbell. Michael plans, develops, and executes value-driven client marketing strategies to stimulate sustainable growth. Michael is responsible for researching, developing, and communicating strategic marketing strategies to meet client goals. Michael plays a pivotal role as a lead strategic brand thinker, working closely with our clients and the Grady Campbell design team to join-the-dots, hold the strategic thread, guide ideas, facilitate discussion, and inspire creativity. With over twenty years of effective marketing leadership, Michael travels internationally to teach, empower, and train entrepreneurs to build successful companies.

At the start of his career, Michael was instrumental in growing a California-based bank startup into a multimillion-dollar enterprise. He has lead successful brand strategies for a number of Grady Campbell’s financial clients including ABR Capital Partners, Apogem Capital, and Omaha Beach Capital Partners. Michael earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management Degree from the Purdue University Daniels School of Business.

In the Google age, information is a commodity; everyone has it, but very few know how to use it to drive their growth. Juli leverages her legal and business experience to help our clients make better decisions based on research, interviews and analysis, not only isolated anecdotes. As a key member of our leadership team, she also takes part in developing new brand strategies, implementing those strategies, and working hand-in-hand with clients to achieve success.

Juli earned a Juris Doctor Degree from Northwestern University of Law School and a B.A. Degree in English, Economics and Business from Olivet Nazarene University. As our Director of Brand Research, Juli has led the way in building sustainable brands for Pfingsten Partners, Gerchen Keller, Crescent Capital Group, LaSalle Capital, Nuveen, and SE Capital. Before joining Grady Campbell, Juli was the Curriculum Developer for Cardean University. Juli’s law firm experience includes Legal Recruiter for Jivaro Associates and David Erickson Consultants; attorney with Bell, Boyd and Lloyd, Mayer Brown and Platt, and Kirkland and Ellis.

With more than 15 years of experience, Sourabh is an innovative IT expert who has developed a wide range web applications using PHP and .NET web technologies. He has expertise working in WordPress, React, Angular and PHP based frameworks like Codeigniter and Laravel PHP applications. In addition, Sourabh is skilled in a wide range of web development platforms including Wocommerce and eCommerce-based solutions.

Matt Bayer’s entrepreneurial flair first revealed itself in the 1990’s when as a high school and college student he began his career in the sport and entertainment trading card business. Today, Matt is the Chief Executive Officer and Owner of MJ Holding Company, the largest distributor of trading cards, games, hot trend toys and collectibles in North America. MJ Holding provides retail supply chain category management to over 8,000 retail locations and is systematically growing its footprint across North America. A Michigan native, Matt and his spouse currently reside in Chicago with their three young children.  Matt is an active member of YPO Chicago and resides on the Accelerate Blue Fund Strategic Advisory Board-University of Michigan, and the Children’s Research Fund Board-Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago Foundation. His family foundation enables him to support issues that are important to the family and the community.

Through his work in both the public and private sector, John Borovicka has developed one of the most unique networks of experiences, relationships, and substantive acumen in the advocacy community today. John utilizes this background on behalf of his clients as a founding partner of Alexander, Borovicka and O’Shea Government Solutions. With a diverse roster of clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to small local businesses, John has earned the trust of leaders in areas such as education, healthcare, and technology to represent their governmental interests. Recent highlights of his work include assisting a major international company in defeating a piece of legislation in Springfield that would have stifled technology and innovation, and helping another major company secure a multi-million-dollar governmental contract, the most lucrative of its kind ever awarded.

Immediately prior to forming Alexander, Borovicka and O’Shea, John spent five years in public finance at an international investment firm, where he was a Senior Vice President in infrastructure investment banking. John specialized in financings for a wide range of large governmental entities across the United States, including the Chicago Transit Authority, the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago, and the State of Ohio. Serving as a financial advisor and bond underwriter, John gained a bird’s eye view of the governmental purchasing world from the inside out, while shepherding his clients through all facets of the procurement process. In addition to broadening his network of local elected officials, John was also able to create new relationships with members of Congress and their staffs representing different areas of the country.

John holds a B.S in Communications from Northwestern University, which he attended on a baseball scholarship. He also holds a J.D. from the Loyola University of Chicago School of Law and is licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois. He previously held Series 7 and Series 63 Securities licenses while working as a municipal finance professional. John has been a guest lecturer in political science and communication at Northwestern, DePaul, and Loyola Universities. Eric started his career as an Investment Banking Analyst at J.P. Morgan & Co. in New York.

Chris’ career experience spans sales, marketing, business and corporate development.  Notably, he was CMO and Chief Corporate Development Officer of NAVEX, the leading ethics and compliance software company during its Vista PE ownership period, and he co-led NAVEX’s successful exit to BC Partners.  Before that, he spent 14 years at Thomson Reuters (NYSE: TRI) building and managing businesses across many of the major business units, including Legal, Compliance, Financial and Risk, and Education. Steven Yaung is the Founder and Managing Partner of Dragonback Partners, a network of venture partners who work with private equity, venture capital, and family offices to source, grow, and accelerate their portfolio companies.

Steve is an accomplished CEO and Managing Director with over 25 years of building and growing businesses in Asia.  His career has seen him manage many businesses varying in size and complexity across Asia, driving growth and delivering substantial value creation for shareholders. After starting his career at General Electric’s Financial Management Program (FMP), Steven went on to successfully start up and exit a food manufacturing and processing business in China.  He then went on to focus on the consumer and retail industry where he progressively moved up the ranks at several multinational conglomerates to hold executive roles at AS Watson, The Honest Company, Folli Follie, and The Body Shop.

Steven is a graduate of the University of Michigan and lives in Hong Kong with his wife Rachel and his three daughters – Lia (12), Eva (8), and Luna (7).
